Carmen is one of those rare individuals who immediately impresses you with her warm and engaging manner while demonstrating superior knowledge and skills in delivering nursing care. She makes her job seem "Easy" which we know it is not. That is what the best nurses do. She is clearly "nursing supervisor" material and it is just a matter of time until she achieves that position. I have had the honor of some of the people who worked for me with a promotion. Indeed I once told someone that if I stayed at General Motors long enough one day he would be my boss. Ten years later he was the Executive Vice President of Risk Management for General Motors Acceptance Corporation. ( the financing arm of GM). Carmen is that kind of person. If you do not promote her someone else will. I do not like being in the hospitals, but, inevitably, one day I will again be a patient at Providence Rochester Hospital, and I look forward to Carmen being the floor Nursing Manager of my floor. One day (ten or twenty years from now) she may even be a candidate for being Senior Leadership of Providence Rochester Hospital and get paid "the big bucks". Carmen is clearly in that category.
