My husband is a 3X Stroke Survivor. Each time he was rushed to SOVAH ER for immediate care. It seems to have been nothing short of what I call a “God Wink” that Meryl was working almost every time; and subsequent scary times for J post-strokes.

Meryl held his hand and was so reassuring. She is always professional, knowledgeable, and an extremely compassionate team player in her role at SOVAH ER. If it is a true emergency, then any ER experience is scary. Meryl displayed the highest ethical standards every time. Me, as the terrified wife, fearing each time for my husband’s life, Meryl always made sure I was being heard. Meryl is so loving and compassionate, and SOVAH is so blessed to continue to have her making her unparalleled presence and skills felt. SOVAH and our community need more Meryls. My husband’s 2nd stroke rendered him speechless. He has been unable to verbally speak for over 13 years now, but his face and body language are at ease when he knows Meryl Barts is caring for him.

Most recently, my 16-month-old grandson fell and was rushed to the ER. He required stitches in his chin and wouldn’t you know it … yes, another “God Wink” for our family. My little grandson found himself being treated by Meryl – what a Blessing! She has loved and greatly cared for my family. She would do the same for your family. She goes above and beyond. This family appreciates her!
