Jamie was extra kind to my grandfather, DT, who was admitted with a severe GI bleed. After surgery, Jamie took time to help my grandfather and spoke to him loudly so he could hear him. He went the extra mile, helping him work his phone, finding “ wrestling” on T.V., and making him a strawberry shake once he was allowed to have that. My grandad said, “Jamie was a good ole boy,” and he could have his extra Yoohoos if he wanted, which is a pretty big deal from my grandad. Jamie was so patient and kind to a very frightened old man who can be a little demanding at times. But at almost 90, we tend to let him have his way. Jamie understood that, and the only complaint my grandad had was when Jamie wasn’t with him on the regular floor. Extra thanks to Jamie for going above and beyond to be the most special person in my life. I have no doubt that he treats all his patients with such grace and compassion.
