The love that Lexi showed my daughter while she was her nurse was beautiful to see and I knew my daughter was in great hands.
On behalf of myself, my family, and my daughter, we would like to nominate a very special person for the Daisy Award. Alexis "Lexi" Muley, assistant manager in the PICU at Arnold Palmer. Our journey with APH started the day my daughter was born in 2016 and ended in 2022 the day she took her last breath in the garden at APH. We spent the first 161 days of her life in the CVICU and spent countless (20+) hospital stays in NICU, PICU, and Special Care. We saw 13 doctors associated with APH and many of the nurses, doctors, and staff at APH became our family. Lexi went above and beyond for my family and my daughter during her last days, which were my hardest days. She listened, advocated, and exuded what it means to be a nurse. I could not thank her enough for being by my side in the moments before we let my daughter go, peacefully. She listened to our every need and catered to everything we needed.

P- Lexi is a passionate and amazing nurse, she felt like a family member in our room with us.

E- She sat with me at the end while I was performing postmortem care on my daughter, she laughed with me, cried with me and most importantly was there through it all.

T- I trusted Lexi with my daughter's care regarding everything she did.

A- Lexi made me laugh in my sad times, she sat with me while I cried, and she hugged me with such passion that she made my darkest moment a little brighter.

L- The love that Lexi showed my daughter while she was her nurse was beautiful to see and I knew my daughter was in great hands.

S- The selflessness that Lexi showed is exactly what the world needs more of.

Alexis, without you being there during the last few days, I don't think I would've remained as strong as I did. I am forever thankful for you and the compassion you showed my family and L. You were a light in our world, and our family is forever thankful and grateful for you. I have been around hundreds of nurses, but you will forever remain in our hearts.
