Aaron is amazing – low-key, respectful of, and caring for the patient’s dignity and health. He served as my husband’s nurse and the charge nurse during our stay of almost two weeks. His interaction with my husband and our family immediately evoked our trust in, and respect, for him. My husband had several agitated moments following his heart procedure. We observed Aaron patiently repeating and explaining what he needed to do to maintain his safety and health. Aaron was always tentative and kind ensuring my husband had everything he needed. He located a chair for him to sit up in and placed it in his room. He took him for rides in his wheelchair as a distraction when I wasn’t present, he bathed him while preserving his dignity and he anticipated his needs as well as those of our family. It is also evident that he is well-respected and liked by his hospital colleagues. Our Family recognizes Aaron for the effort he makes and the role he plays in the unit. We encourage the hospital to identify him for this prestigious award; while he’s not a DAISY in stature, he portrays the friendliness, hope, desire for someone’s wellness, and comfort that the DAISY represents.
