Patricia Phillips has demonstrated a deep love and commitment to providing exceptional care to her patients.
With over 25 years of experience as an ICU nurse, five years as a nurse educator for critical care units, and six years as a nurse practitioner in the ICU, Patricia Phillips has demonstrated a deep love and commitment to providing exceptional care to her patients. Her colleagues and patients have consistently sought her for advice, support, and she is consistently praised for being knowledgeable, approachable, and a great team player.

As a team, we shared mixed emotions when our colleague and friend announced her retirement for this year. Selfishly sad to miss her expertise, skill, positivity, and of course her forever smile. Despite the mask, we all know when she is smiling. Sad to hear that she will be retiring this year; while we are unfortunate to lose such an asset to our healthcare Team in the ICU, Trish has left an indelible mark on all of us. And for that, we are grateful and blessed to have worked alongside this colleague and friend. Trish's contributions to the nursing field and her unwavering commitment to providing high-quality patient care make her highly deserving of the Lifetime DAISY Award. Her visibility, accessibility, and excellent communication skills have made her a trusted voice in the nursing community and have earned her the respect of her colleagues and patients.

Trish’s knowledge, experience, skills, and most of all her enthusiasm have been instrumental in improving patient experience. Her dedication to engaging patients and promoting shared governance has helped build a stronger and more connected healthcare community. She is a natural mentor to all nurses in all interactions. Trish has the gift to teach yet one is never made to feel inferior or lectured. She is a shining example of the power of compassion and relationships in healthcare.
