Since coming to Building 87 from an institution Ms. Katie always showed me kindness, honesty, and truth. My life has been filled with substance use, lies, violence, and institutions. Upon the news (several times) of me being locked down for quarantine purposes: meaning I was not negative for COVID or Flu but my roomies were, Ms. Katie and A were there to make sure I was calm and taken care of. I have been locked down more times for not having a positive than I care to count but Ms. Katie treated me with respect, truth, and sincerity. That meant the world to Vets and people like me who have struggled throughout their lives with trust issues. Her commitment to serving us (Veterans) and making sure we get the medical needs we came here for is fulfilled tenfold when she is on. It makes me proud to have served my country for people like Ms. Katie and when we need help, to have Ms. Katie take care of us.
