Patti is a phenomenal nurse. She is the perfect RN mix of skill and care. She is so knowledgeable. Rest assured, if a colleague has a question, Patti can answer it or she will find out the answer for you. She is so helpful. Patti can have the toughest assignment on the unit and still find time to help her colleague if assistance is needed. Patti is caring, engaging, and thorough. This is why the parents of our special little patients love her.

A few weeks ago, I witnessed just how thorough and caring Patti is with parents. Patti was assigned to a complicated patient whose family needed a great deal of discharge teaching. Using an interpreter, Patti did 4 hours straight of discharge teaching that included lots of demonstration! While teaching the parents to care for their fragile child, she was always patient, kind, and took the time to make sure that they understood what was being taught to them. I have always recognized that Patti is an exceptional nurse, but that situation reminded me of how great she is and how lucky our team is to have her.
