Our son was recently admitted into the PICU for respiratory distress due to RSV. This person was his nurse for multiple days and on the days we were under their care I felt at ease. They took the time to explain what was happening with his care and helped us comfort and care for our son as well. Seeing your son with wires, IVs, oxygen tubing and more was not easy on us. This nurse took the time to comfort us as we were unsure of what was happening as well as taking the time to re-explain things as needed. They spent most of their busy shift checking in on us and making sure we didn't need anything. There were times when they did all they could to ensure our son was comfortable and resting peacefully. Andrew brought in a guitar and played some tunes to help boost K's spirits when he was having a rough time. Andrew's energy, care for patients, and overall bedside manner are unmatched! They are the best of the best and deserve to be recognized for not only their care for our son but also their care during their days working for ProMedica! We cannot thank this nurse enough for their care for our son. They helped eased our nerves and helped us get through some tough and unsure times.
