We had only myself and an other nurse in the ER that are trauma certified and core staff. Erica offered to come in and help without being asked. Since she came in we had enough certified staff to have a full trauma team. This allowed us to provide the best care possible for our trauma patients. This also provided us with another nurse that was able to do moderate sedations, so that the same nurse didn't have to complete all of them for the whole ER. When she arrived she was also so calm, willing to help and do whatever was needed all with an incredibly positive attitude. This helped relieve stress from the entire team. On arrival, she opened a half-zone of dischargeable patients. This helped decompress the waiting room and get many patients seen by the providers quicker. It helped decrease the number of waiting room patients. She then went to a zone allowing me to be able to keep it fully open to see ER patients. Erica is so compassionate and an amazing team player. She is always willing to help and is incredibly kind to both patients and coworkers. This is just one example of her extraordinary behavior for her team.
