John's presence gave and still gives me the inspiration to excel at my job as a nurse for my patients.
John shows personal care and excellence in his interactions with everyone he encounters. He shows professionalism, respect, integrity diversity, and excellence daily. He is the embodiment of what UCSF strives for. John has made a lasting impact on me and others in the Operating Room for many years. He is always an upbeat personality, a positive and reaffirming voice in the OR.
Johns's ongoing positive and bright attitude and in-depth knowledge of this profession make him an obvious choice for the DAISY Award. He embodies the spirit of this award. John is a role model for all including physicians, nurses, residents, and fellows, and all staff at UCSF. Simply put, John is the best person we have at UCSF with regard to working collaboratively, being a role model, communicating clearly, and making special connections with everyone he meets. He is a true asset to UCSF.
John always goes above and beyond, putting patients and coworkers' needs above his own. John is the true definition of our UCSF core PRIDE values. To this day I still aspire to be the kind of nurse that John is. I tell him all the time how much I want to be like him and he always tells me to be better than him. I don't know how to be better than the best. John goes out of his way daily, to be of service to someone other than himself. We need more people like John in this world.
John was my preceptor. John's presence gave and still gives me the inspiration to excel at my job as a nurse for my patients. He is the greatest team player, and our department is most lucky to have him as our colleague. He always has gone above and beyond when it comes to patient care. To say that John lightens up the unit when he walks in is an understatement. He is a positive beam of light. He makes a great working environment even better.
Since day one, John Cornejo has been nothing short of incredible. He is an excellent nurse and co-worker. He interacts with patients in a comforting and supportive manner, providing top-notch care and support to our patients and family alike. He ensures that every member of the OR team is treated with respect and dignity, reminding us all of how appreciated and valued we are to him and the operating room as a whole. I am a proud UC employee and that is because of people like John who exude professionalism, positivity, grace, and genuine kindness.
