When I tell people our story and about how compassionate and caring Jake was to us I get choked up thinking about how someone could help us so much through such a stressful night.
Our labor and delivery was quite complex. We had to be induced due to several health conditions with both baby and mom. Unfortunately, whenever mom was dosed with pitocin the baby’s heart rate dropped. Jake was so kind in explaining what was going on in a manner that was calm and compassionate while trying to modulate the doses in a manner that might lead to a successful outcome. At one point during the night, the baby’s heart rate dropped alarmingly low. Jake immediately came in and looked at the screen and without showing any worry on his face said: “The baby’s heart rate is a bit lower than I would like I’m going to call some extra friends in and we’re going to move you around a bit.” My wife and I were both scared but Jake jumped right in moving my wife around while reassuring her and staying incredibly calm. Once the heart rate had normalized he started mentally preparing us for going the C-section route. When my wife was wheeled off to the OR I knew she was in the best hands. Although my wife was scared he kept reassuring her in the OR and blasted some Spice Girls for her to get her to relax. When our baby arrived he was as overjoyed as I was - and he does this every night! When I tell people our story and about how compassionate and caring Jake was to us I get choked up thinking about how someone could help us so much through such a stressful night. He clearly loves what he does as is shown by how much heart he gives to those he is caring for. Our lives have been forever touched by Jake and I can’t thank him enough.
