One week ago, a patient visited LHMC for a contrast MRI. She called me to make sure that Jaime was thanked appropriately. She said “I have had a lot of IVs and I don’t like them. The patient talked about so many times when “they couldn’t find a vein and (she) would come home with a blue arm from so many tries.” Her doctor heard about her prior experience with IVs and recommended she come to Burlington and ask for an IV nurse, and “that’s just what I did.”

She described the care and how her physical and emotional stress about getting an IV was now relieved because Jaime “was so lovely, and kind, and calm, and gentle, and professional…and I am sure I was babbling and nervous. I asked her what she was doing and Jaime said; ‘Just assessing,’ and I can’t tell you how relieved I was and how SHOCKED when she got it on the first try! And you know what, that IV came out and no blue, not even a red mark, like it wasn’t even there.” “I am just SO happy that now that I won’t have to worry about the next IV. I just HAD to find out who the right person was to call, to make sure that they know what a treasure Jaime is, and to make sure to say thank you so much. Will you do that for me?” Of course, I said. “Thank you.”
