Thank you for the courage to always reach out to the doctors and speak up for my father. You took on every issue, concern, and obstacle and found the solution instead of making excuses.
Prescilla,
I need you to know, for my family, you were the light in the darkness. Having a loved one in the hospital is a traumatic experience. Thank you for your compassion and kindness. You never dismissed my parents as old or annoying. From the moment we got to your unit, you advocated for my father. Even when it meant others might give you a hard time. You handled it with such grace and kindness.
You never forgot about my father’s request. You never had to be reminded about his paint. You over-communicated so we never had to guess what was going on. You provided us with a sense of peace. You made time to connect and know my father as a person, not just a room number. Never did we see you get frustrated or annoyed with him.
It made us so happy to see you training another, too. This gives us hope your kindness, skills, and knowledge will spread to more nurses.
