Losing the ability to take care of yourself can take a large toll on someone as prideful as my sister-in-law, so we truly appreciate Ruth treating her with the utmost respect.
My sister-in-law was recently admitted after a year-long battle with stage 4 cancer. This was not only hard on her, but also on the family as there was little time to process the severity of the situation. When my husband and I arrived on Wednesday, Ruth was her nurse for the evening. I understand that with how the cancer progressed, S was prone to irritability. Despite this, this nurse treated her with fantastic care and compassion – taking the time to calmly explain what she was doing or why something had taken longer than anticipated. Losing the ability to take care of yourself can take a large toll on someone as prideful as my sister-in-law, so we truly appreciate Ruth treating her with the utmost respect. I can’t even imagine how difficult this must be, but I hope that this nurse (and many others) continue to stick around as the patients/families appreciate you more than you will ever know. Thank you!
