As a new member of the Lehigh Valley Visiting Nurses Association, I had the good fortune of being partnered with a Veteran Home Health Nurse, Deborah Christian BSN, RN. Deborah's work ethic and demonstrated field practice go above and beyond LVHN's core values of compassion, integrity, collaboration, and excellence. She has modeled knowledge of the profession and the art of bringing clinical knowledge together with the power of care and compassion for families and patients as they begin (or continue) their healing journeys at home. Deborah Christian demonstrates compassionate care, humor, patience, and intuition for understanding where to meet patients and families as she strives to empower them with practical knowledge. She is an agent of community health awareness and inspires those around her. Patients adore her infectious laugh as she encourages and validates them as they navigate complex medical conditions. Deborah Christian is an outstanding Registered Nurse. She is active in her community, and with her "Make it happen" attitude, I watch her put her whole heart into helping others wherever she is. Active within Lehigh Valley Health Network and serving on various quality improvement committees, Deborah Christian sets an amazing example for nurses (especially us newbies) and has been one of the most positive nurse teachers I have had the privilege to learn from.
