Shana has been the BEST nurse who has cared for my husband during his hospital stay. This amazing nurse took the time to talk with my husband and I in a manner that was not overwhelming, and made us feel like we are her family that really matters. She is very friendly and has a sense of humor that comes at the right time during an emotional and stressful, difficult time for both my husband and me. Whenever I had a question, she was great to explain the answer or follow up right away if she did not have the information at hand; and closed the loop to let me know things like vital signs, lab work, medication changes, and treatments. It was always so assuring to come in and see that Shana was my husband’s nurse when I would come in to visit. Her career as a nurse will take her far with the caring, insightful, intelligent, and compassionate attitude that she has. She has a gift for making patients and families feel like real people and not just a room number or assignment. She is so skillful and gentle in completing care for a patient especially when they are uncomfortable. As an alumnus of MVH School of Nursing, it is refreshing to see a nurse like Shana driving nursing forward in a very challenging healthcare world. Thank you for making a difference for us even though you would probably say it is just your job like most nurses do.
