Last week Katie was giving a tour to a float staff for the day at the North Clinic. When she was over near the urgent care one of the front staff was hurriedly trying to get out to the lobby to help a patient that had fallen and was yelling she couldn't breathe. Katie kept her calm, got one of the UC nurses, and went out to the lobby. Katie and the UC nurse then helped get the patient into the wheelchair and she asked what room the UC nurse wanted her in. They got her back there and Katie stayed to help until the patient was determined to be vitally safe.

Because of her empathy and quick actions, she helped keep everyone else in the lobby calm that morning and put the patient first. Katie always has the ability to make everyone around her laugh no matter what is going on. In these tough days when people are stretched thin and burning out, this is a marvelous quality needs recognition.
