Anna is a terrific nurse, advocate, and care-taker of her patients. She has had a particularly difficult year with the passing of her sweet father while he was a patient on our unit. She recently had a patient with a similar case in the same room as her father, however, this patient was developmentally delayed and had the mindset of a 5th grader. He voiced his fear of dying to her and wished to understand the bible and talk to God for comfort, but did not understand the ones that were provided to him. Anna went out of her way to find a children's bible for the patient so that he could understand the stories and find comfort in his dying process, as he elected to go to hospice surrounded by his family. She showed incredible leadership, compassion, and grace in this situation and I could not be more proud of her and the strong, confident, resilient person and nurse that she is.
