I came in and was admitted through the ED. I had a kidney stone and infection that required surgery. Allyson went above and beyond and exceeded all expectations. I was nauseous and extremely nervous. Allyson continually checked on me, offered reassurance, and offered support and comfort. It was evident that she possessed amazing amounts of knowledge and superior nursing skills but it was her kindness and compassion that made a difference for me. 

Allyson advocated for my needs, was unbelievably responsive and her kindness unmatched. As a nurse, I know the demands placed on a nurse, but never once did it reflect in Allyson’s attitude toward care. She is the epitome of what you think of when you have an amazing, high-quality professional. 

When I was not feeling well, her encouragement made all the difference. She is a model for others and should be the measure when setting UPMC standards. 

The world needs more people like Allyson and I cannot thank her enough.
