Amber has always had a very caring heart. She shows it in many ways. We have a patient who comes in regularly to our department and spends most of the day with us for an outpatient infusion. Since we see him so frequently we have all gotten to know him well. The patient admitted that it was getting difficult to take care of himself at home. Amber asked the patient if one day when he came in for his infusion he would like help taking a shower. He said yes and was so looking forward to it. The day he was to have his shower Amber was not even his nurse but as promised, she assisted him to bathe. It was a great example of a nurse going above and beyond to help someone feel a little more human and improve their quality of life. It was a lot of extra work but she did not mind at all. Hats off to her for sure.
