Lisa Longinotti is one of the best nurses in the building! Her knowledge of oncology is incredibly vast and her love and compassion for our patients are equally as big. She spends so much time with each patient, making sure all their questions are answered and they are emotionally ok. She advocates for her patients with the physicians. I have seen her, on more than one occasion, stay late to call a patient and discuss their diagnosis and treatment plan, making sure all the questions were answered and the patient was fully understanding the situation. I have seen her sit in an exam room with patients who have gotten bad news and cry with the family, just being present and listening and caring.

When she hears of a patient who has passed away, she often calls the family to give her condolences. I have seen her cry over the phone with the wife of one of her patients after the patient passed away. When she has a patient who has been waiting a long time and is hungry, she will go buy food for the patient so they can eat while they wait. She has a huge heart for her patients. There are countless ways that she shows this on a daily basis. As I said, she is one of the most caring nurses (and humans) in the building.
