Her warmth and light shone bright and Gracie possesses that special something that can’t be taught in nursing school. You can’t teach someone to care the way Gracie does.
My father was admitted to the Hospital and all of the nurses and LPNs were fantastic. Gracie came into our lives during the night shift and immediately became a bright light in a very dark time for my mother and me. Always checking on my father but also my mother. My father was put on inpatient hospice. Gracie was in every hour to make sure he was as comfortable as could be, always checking on my mother’s needs and always bringing her light and love with her. She was the one who had to wake my mother up to tell my mother that her husband of 59 years had passed away. We can never repay her for the comfort in which she gave to my mother. Her warmth and light shone bright and Gracie possesses that special something that can’t be taught in nursing school. You can’t teach someone to care the way Gracie does. She was our angel on one of the hardest days of our lives. We will never forget her and my hope is that every patient that ever has to be in a hospital, has a Gracie caring for them. If I could, I’d give her a thousand DAISIES because she deserves them all.
