Tammy went above and beyond with patient care. A patient was seen in the Urgent Care and was highly recommended to go follow up for further evaluation in the Emergency Room in Danville due to labs and vitals and further scanning. The patient chose to go by private vehicle, report was called to the charge nurse at SOVAH ED. This nurse later in the day called the wife of the patient to see how he was doing and was informed they had left the ED due to the rudeness of the Triage nurse at SOVAH. Tammy strongly encouraged the wife that this patient HAD to be seen and possibly have scans performed. She encouraged the wife to go to Gretna ED and report was called to Gretna ED. The wife agreed and was going to take him. Tammy the following day called the wife and the patient had a ruptured AAA (10cm X10cm) and was transferred to LGH for Surgery. Without Tammy, I strongly believe this patient would not be here today.
