Throughout our stay, my day is infinitely better when Kate is in charge of our boys. The level of care she provides is above and beyond what I could have asked for.
My twin boys came into this world fast and furious at 27 weeks and 6 days. As a first-time Mom with a traumatic pre-term birth and premature tiny babies, I had no idea what to expect. Our very first NICU nurse Kate M had the boys that morning and although their first day is a bit of a blur, I definitely remembered her kindness and thoughtfulness. When my husband and I came down for our visit she asked to take our picture for us huddled around their isolettes. Our first photo together. We then got ready for a long stay, so far 55 days here and some more to come. Throughout our stay, my day is infinitely better when Kate is in charge of our boys. The level of care she provides is above and beyond what I could have asked for. From teaching me how to do their cares, making sure their bedding matches, helping me learn to bottle feed, looking up medication names, answering every question I have with patience and kindness, letting me be in charge of our days and time together, and setting up our first photo shoot by bringing in a crib and putting the boys together. Both boys needed transport to another hospital for heart procedures and she gave me peace of mind knowing while my babies were separated and I had to split my time, the other baby was just in great hands. I could go on and on about how incredible she is and how our days and lives will forever be impacted by her care. Kate is simply the brightest part of our long NICU journey and we are so grateful for her.
