We, the GI Team would like to recognize the hard work and dedication that our technicians show every day. They do not only do their jobs, but they go beyond. Even when we are short of staff, you can see their dedication. Patients are constantly telling the nurses how satisfied they are with them, and doctors also are recognizing them for stepping up when needed. We can give thousands of examples, and they are countless, but these are some:

"A patient came in, and he was not sure that he wanted to have the procedure done, so he felt comfortable with the staff, especially the tech then he decided to have his procedure. If the patient would have decided not to proceed with the procedure, we would have missed taking out several polyps that could have become cancerous." That is the true meaning of ICARE.

"A patient came into the GI department for an appointment, and he realized that it was a different appointment, but as he was leaving (with walker) the tech quickly offered to take them in a wheelchair to the right department. He was so grateful and showed his appreciation for her assistance."

On many occasions, during procedures the doctors while having a difficult time reaching the end of cecum depend on the technician in the room to assist them getting there. "When the tech assisted the doctor and was able to complete the procedure the doctor told his tech that he could not have done it without him that how he appreciated they are to the GI team." This is a true statement because the case would have been incomplete if not for reaching the cecum. Thank you GI nurses.
