She let me know that if I changed my mind, she was here for me. That comforted my heart in a tremendous way.
This is my 3rd day of having Bailey as my day nurse. I have stage 4 bone cancer and find myself in the hospital because the cancer has spread into my colon. I’ve been very sick. Bailey has taken such good care of me. Bailey is consistently busy and takes the time to call me by name, smile, and is wonderful at her job. I’ve been so sick and Bailey makes me feel welcome and cared for. She has gone above and beyond to make me comfortable and cared for. I appreciate her very, very much. She has made my very bad news easier to take. When I started to cry, Bailey closed the door and asked me if I’d like to talk. She asked if there was anything she could do. I said “No,” and Bailey said, “ok.” But she let me know that if I changed my mind, she was here for me. That comforted my heart in a tremendous way.

Bailey was kind, caring, and very understanding. She eagerly helped with anything I needed while also making me feel valued as a patient. She was my day nurse. Bailey treated my care less like a job, and more like something she enjoyed doing. She anticipated my needs before they came up and appeared to think outside the box in solving situations. Bailey was the most attentive to my surgical drain.

Bailey always encouraged J, Alzheimer's patient, to do his best. She maintained a positive, friendly attitude towards J even when he was hard to care for. She not only made a difference in J’s life but our family, with whom she showed great support. Bailey stopped by even when J was not her patient to see how he was doing and to see how I was doing. Her encouragement of J helped him reach his PT goals by being willing to do the work PT asked of the nurse (getting him up for meds, using his walker to commute or get to the bathroom). Small things for some patients, but huge for J. She is an example to other nurses as she demonstrates excellent care for patients. Bailey is an exceptional nurse!
