Angel (Amber) said, “I got some help. We’re going to turn his bed all the way around, so the kids can see him.” I lost it, and I had my hands on my face with tears of joy for our babies.
After doctors put J on the ventilator, the kids wanted to see their dad. I knew only one person was allowed daily, and I had come earlier that day. I told myself, I’ll try to see if the kids could see J through his window. The kids waited on me outside to give them the okay to come to the window to see their dad. As I walked into J’s room, I noticed his nurse “Angel” (Amber) was already in his room. As I was unloading my stuff, I looked at his nurse and said, “Ma’am, I have a huge favor to ask you! Our babies are outside that window, and they haven’t seen their dad for a while. Can we please lower his bed, so the kids can see his face?” Angel dropped the top part of his bed and walked out. A couple of seconds later, Angel came back into his room with another nurse, and Angel said, “I got some help. We’re going to turn his bed all the way around, so the kids can see him.” I lost it, and I had my hands on my face with tears of joy for our babies. The other nurse grabbed me and just held me as I hugged her. I walked over to J’s bed. I looked up at our kids, and they were crying and holding each other. I told the kids Daddy looks good, and he’s doing great! That moment was God’s work, and J’s nurse that night was our “Angel”. We are so grateful for her!!!
