Pat played an integral role in developing the antepartum unit.
Pat role models compassionate leadership of her teams by encouraging her teams to treat each member of staff as a unique individual that brings value to the team whether they have 6 months of experience or 20 years. One “Pat” slogan is that “no one comes to work to do a bad job”. This means diving into each situation with compassion for each staff member and not always taking a situation at face value. This is accomplished by taking the time to get to know each staff member to have a better understanding of each staff member’s background.

Her passion for safety is evident in her ongoing support for continuing education of staff. Her compassion for the vulnerable population of women and infants that we serve resonates in her commitment to improving the quality of care we offer. She directs and leads her teams through quality initiatives, and utilizes data-driven and evidence-based practices to improve birth outcomes, health of women and infants, and decrease costs. She recognized the need to grow and create the role of a bereavement coordinator. Her compassion and connection with patients who have suffered a loss led to her understanding of the needs not only in our community but from surrounding communities. She played an integral role in developing the antepartum unit. The antepartum unit cares for high-risk patients. She understood the need for education for the nurses to provide the highest quality of care for this vulnerable population.
