I am nominating Bailey Lindley for the DAISY Nurse Leader. Besides taking care of two departments at UMC, Nurse Recruitment and Resource Pool, Bailey also has her own family to attend to. More so, she is a major factor in bringing international nurses to our hospital. She has been actively picking up these nurses from the airport to their hotels or apartments. Even after work, on weekends, and sometimes involving her husband and kids to pick up and take furniture or small appliances to our temporary garage so these nurses will have something to use when they get here in the US. These things people don’t know and see but I am a witness of how dedicated and how hard worker Bailey is. She is friendly and approachable making these nurses feel at ease especially in a foreign land and in a new environment. That’s why these nurses admire her, she makes sure they have a smooth transition in Lubbock. I have never seen a Director/Leader so passionate about her work and in helping others. I am just truly grateful that I work with her.

From one of those nurses: Where on earth can you find a director carrying a microwave, table, and other furniture for newly hired nurses? Only UMC has the best Nurse Recruitment Director. Mind you, I am not even exaggerating when I say she's the best at what she does. She made sure we have everything we need for our smooth transition to life in the US. Whenever she sees me or any other nurses (probably all), she never fails to ask how we are doing and if we need anything. She makes us feel like we can still go to her for anything even if we already have our own directors. Also, the team under her works beyond compare which only shows how great of a leader she is. We (international nurses) are truly lucky to be part of UMC and I am sure they'll all agree that Bailey is one of the reasons for it. Kudos to you Ms. Bailey and God bless you more.
