Gabby is kind, warm, and very compassionate. She spoke with a soft voice and helped us find peace in what we were doing for Mom.
Gabby gave my mom and our family exceptional care. My mom passed away at Lahey Burlington in January. Gabby is an Extraordinary Nurse in so many ways. When my mom was on end of life care, Gabby always checked in to see if mom was comfortable and to see if my dad and I needed anything as well. The unit was very busy and you could hear the call lights going off and see that everyone was doing their best. But Gabby made sure she paid particular attention to my mom.
My dad and I spent a few nights sleeping by mom's bed. There was only one reclining chair in the room and Dad was resting. Gabby came in and saw that I was on a regular chair and immediately got me a reclining chair and told me that I needed to be comfortable too.
The night before Mom passed away, Dad and I decided to go home to do some things that needed to get done. We were so worried about Mom being alone as we knew she didn't have much time. Gabby promised to spend part of her break with Mom so she wouldn't be alone. That is something not too many people would do - she gave up some of her free time to spend with my mom. She knew how important that was to me and Dad.
Gabby is kind, warm, and very compassionate. She spoke with a soft voice and helped us find peace in what we were doing for Mom. I'm sure you receive many letters nominating other nurses. Please consider Gabby for this distinguished award. She deserves it!
