Jenna is most deserving of this award due to the amazing effort and care she provides to her patients every day. One example, in particular, we had a very difficult Lumbar Puncture on a patient and we couldn't keep him in position. Several nurses came in to help intermittently and Jenna was the last one to arrive. We tried to complete the Lumbar Puncture sitting, but the patient was unable to sit up as he was frequently falling to one side. We tried him lying down, but we were not able to get him properly positioned. With Jenna’s determination to make this work, she suggested that we then sit him back up again. Finally, we were able to deliver the IT chemo to our patient who desperately needed it!

Jenna was inspirational. She struggled with the patient and two RN students to keep the patient in a good position, which was not a short or easy task. She provided great comfort and continuous encouragement at one of the patient's most venerable moments.

Jenna’s actions that day were so incredible. She was so compassionate to the patient, smiled throughout, was encouraging to everyone, and showed an amazing example to two RN students of what it means to be a nurse, truly. She is quite remarkable and we are always humbled to witness her take part in extraordinary types of clinical excellence every day.
