Faye trained me for HBPC and has some difficult patients and situations. In particular, she has two veterans who live in poverty and have poor living conditions. Faye has been the best example by caring for these families and treating them with the utmost dignity, respect, and compassion. One family had bed bugs and Faye did not hesitate when they needed her to go into their home and take care of this veteran after a hospital visit. She never treated them any differently than any other patient. She shows no differences in any veteran and family's status or living situation. Faye also remembered the other veteran's daughter was having a birthday around the time she scheduled his next visit and Faye brought her a birthday cake when she made that visit. The veteran's daughter was so happy and her face just lit up when Faye came in. She remains faithful and true to her patients while upholding the professionalism, commitment, and integrity of a VA employee. Faye is one of the best nurses I have had the privilege to work with and I will strive to follow her example in my care and practice as an HBPC nurse.
