I am unable to describe the sense of comfort, stability, and friendship I received from Tabatha.
My family & I became COVID-positive during my 39th week of pregnancy. It was decided that I be induced due to now being at high risk. My husband was not allowed to be with me for the birth which created tremendous fear, sadness, anxiety, and overwhelming stress. I was told I could have a support person, and I chose my oldest sister. My labor began without medical intervention. As I walked up to the FBC alone as waited for my sister, I continued to have periods of high emotion. At shift change I had the most sense of relief that everything was going to be ok because a very familiar voice was on the nurse call system, asking if I needed anything before she came in. Tabby admitted us with our first daughter, and we had the most amazing experience with her. From the moment she walked into the room, she was very sympathetic imagining how difficult it would be, but knew the best thing was to deliver safely. Tabby explained all the interventions very well making sure the antibodies were infused prior to delivery, and steps that were going to happen post-delivery. We were able to FaceTime with my husband, and with every interaction Tabby had with us she made sure my husband was involved as much as he could be. Especially knowing he was anxiously waiting in the parking lot. Once the baby was born, my husband announced the gender, baby girl number 2! I am unable to describe the sense of comfort, stability, and friendship I received from Tabatha. Saying my husband is my rock is an understatement, but having Tabatha as my nurse gave me the sense of grounding I needed. She made me feel that even though the situation is far from ideal, we would get through this together. Our birth plan changed from one in, two out, to still four at home. Thank you, Tabatha, for all you do for your patients. We value your devotion to your profession and patients.
