Recarda is definitely who you want in that ER. She explained the various procedures that were being performed and she gave warning when many of them were going to be painful.
I came into the ER at approximately 06:00. I was involved in a bicycle accident a little earlier that broke both my arms. Recarda was my primary nurse during my time in the ER. She provided my initial care and assisted radiology personnel when they came for mobile scans as well as coordinating when I had to go for a full CT scan. She also assisted when ORTHO and ER Attending attempted a reduction of my left arm.
I was definitely scared during this whole process. I was unable to use my mobile phone so she assisted as I was trying to inform my family of what was going on. Additionally, I was from out of State (I'm from Ohio) and I was attending the MS-150 Houston - College Station charity bike ride). I had to take my religious medals off she made sure they were secured and given to a very close friend who arrived to take point on my care.

I was eventually moved up to the ward in preparation for surgery. I received great care from the moment I was brought in to when I was discharged and am appreciative of all the dedicated personnel who had a part in my care (especially the surgeon who put my arms back together) but it was important I recognize the care Recarda provided.
My sister is a PRE/POST OP Nurse up here at the University of Toledo Medical Center so I know well the importance of Nurses. Recarda is going to be remembered perpetually in my prayers of Thanksgiving.
