Stephanie takes an open-door policy to a whole new level. She always listens to me, no matter how trivial it may be. She takes the time to help me see things objectively and find a solution. We have all been through a lot over the past few years and she has been as transparent with us as possible. Stephanie creates an environment of trust by trusting the team, treating everyone with respect, and making the best decisions for the whole even when it’s hard and unpopular. She takes into consideration the feedback she receives from staff. She encourages professional development and looks for opportunities for staff to grow. She looks for ways to improve staff morale and to show them they are appreciated. She brings treats and has included some team engagement activities in staff meetings. She shares her visions of an even better unit and encourages everyone to make suggestions. She advocates for the things we need and want. We have been able to obtain some equipment we have been requesting for many years. She works hard to share our wins more often than our misses. She sees beyond the surface, she sees the good in people and their potential where others may have dismissed them.
