Recently Linda Wilburn called to ask me a question regarding another Baptist facility. She informed me that a patient who had been admitted to our medsurg unit a few weeks ago was actually now in another Baptist Hospital. I learned that she had grown close to this sweet patient while she was with us and that this lady had no family. This patient quickly realized what a great person Linda is and started communicating with her after discharge. She called Linda the Sunday prior to tell her about the symptoms she was experiencing, and Linda brought her to our ER for evaluation. This sweet lady was sicker than she realized and needed to be transferred to a higher level of care. While Linda was on the phone with me she told me the lady was asking her to bring her some gowns for her to wear and Linda agreed to take them to her. This act of service was a 2-hour drive from where Linda lives and she never hesitated to tell her yes. Linda always goes above and beyond and cares deeply about our patients. She is a true servant of Christ and we are blessed to have her here at Baptist.
