My mother was admitted to 4 N on Saturday and Keisha was the RN working with my mother on first shift. The care she provided was excellent, and she went above and beyond. Keisha was knowledgeable, and responsive, and communicated well with us as well as the other providers and staff. Keisha clearly knew what was happening with my mother at all times, and she was able to explain in a way that was easy to understand. She did not wait on us to ask questions; she was proactive in reviewing the medical records and letting my mother know what tests had been ordered and generally what to expect. It was also evident that Keisha was communicating well with the Trauma doctors, neurologist, speech pathologists, case manager, and all who were involved in my mother’s care. For example, she let us know that she was contacting the neurologist to let him know about new symptoms and she contacted the case manager several times to help make sure certain outpatient services were scheduled. She was always thinking ahead to ensure my mother was well cared for. Keisha also went above and beyond to show kindness and make sure my mother’s hospital stay was positive. For instance, she brought coffee, creamer, and Splenda to my mother (without being asked) because she thought it may be a little wait before my mother received her breakfast tray. I cannot describe each and everything that Keisha did but I can say that we have never had this type of experience. She made this the most positive experience possible under the circumstances.
