Nancy Identified that UK pharmacies had an opportunity to improve safety, patient experience, and quality enhancement. Cardiac rehab has a visually impaired patient who has regular medication changes and reported frustration with the lack of adaptive services the UK offers. Nancy contacted the Director of Specialty Pharmacy and the UK is now reviewing solutions that they can implement to be inclusive to the visually impaired community UK serves. Nancy also took it upon herself to contact the patient's current pharmacy and assist in making the med change known. Nancy called other local pharmacies to inquire about service options for visually impaired patients and what they offer. It should also be noted that the medication changes made were not performed in our clinic and Nancy went above and beyond out of concern for the patient's safety.
