My wife and I would like to nominate our nurse. This nurse's clinical skill and especially her compassionate care exemplify the kind of nurse that patients, their families, and people recognize as outstanding role models. She is an amazing nurse and our words can't describe the gratitude my wife and I have for her compassion and caring for us. Her compassion and caring are unmatched. My wife has cancer and is facing hospice options. She kept my wife and me calm and ensured us that she would make our visit here as comfortable as possible. She did a great job of keeping my wife comfortable. She offered to shampoo my wife's hair and did it for her in the chair. Her kindness and compassion warmed my heart and brought tears to my eyes. It shows that this nurse loves taking care of her patients and I feel she considers them family. She told my wife that she needed to start the morning off right, looking and feeling good. I felt we were part of her family. She also helped to care for very painful open bed sores that have been tormenting my wife for weeks. The list of examples of her extraordinary efforts would be too long to add to this document. Everything she does is for the care and benefit of her patients. She also arranged some volunteer service dogs to lift my wife's spirits. She never leaves the room without ensuring we don't need anything and ensures everything is completed. She seems to do the work of two people because she cares. Her knowledge is extensive, and she has only been here for a year on the team. When she comes into the room, we feel relieved to know we will be taken care of and our nurse is extraordinary. The nomination criteria describe her exactly. She made us feel comfortable, was compassionate, and took care of us. Her attitude was always positive and reassuring. She was very courteous and always worked together with us and her team to provide great care. She far exceeded our expectations and went over and above at all times. Please share our sincerest appreciation to a superstar that J. Patrick Barnes would have been proud of and hoped all nurses would strive to emulate.
