I am a student nurse who was completing a patient care clinical rotation at St Mary's Hospital. I was paired with Chris for the day and was blown away by the level of care he provided for his patients. He was extremely busy all day but remained so calm and organized. Each time he walked into a patient’s room, he was 100% in tune with their needs. He connected with each patient in such a simple but powerful way. He was one of the most skilled, talented, and naturally gifted nurses I have ever had the opportunity to work with. He is the type of nurse I hope to be someday.

We had one patient who recently had surgery on their femur. The patient was having a really hard time getting out of bed and was in a tremendous amount of pain. The patient was also nervous and anxious. Chris walked into the room with so much confidence and his presence calmed the patient almost immediately. He spoke with the patient for a few minutes and their connection was almost instantaneous. He administered some medications to help with the pain and when he returned, he asked if she would like to pray with him before getting up out of bed. She agreed and stated, "that is exactly what I need right now". The progress she made and the relief she felt from getting out of bed made her cry. It was such a powerful moment.
