Corrie Bly has proven to be an excellent leader. Corrie always greets coworkers with a smile. She is easy to approach at all times. When a question or concern arises, Corrie is able to provide guidance on difficult decisions and always has a solution. She also explains the rationale behind these decisions. Corrie encourages us to think critically and improve upon problem-solving skills, by suggesting avenues to approach when dealing with a similar problem. Corrie cares for the well-being and morale of our department. A prime example of this was the New Year function and the Tartan of Redlands. This turned out to be a huge success, where our coworkers could spend quality time and bond with one another. Corrie always demonstrates a caring and empathetic attitude to staff. This is especially evident when we come to her with our concerns, be it patient-related, coworker, or personal in nature. Corrie carries out the mission of RCH by ensuring the work culture reflects the values we are known for, and ensures these values are integrated with any changes in the workplace. Corrie makes sure that excellence is achieved through effective communication with the staff with any policy or function change. This results in improved outcomes for the patient, as well as staff. The changes made are well thought out, and adopted through the consensus of the team, allowing us all to have a voice.
