My husband, K, was transported to RPH from Corning Hospital for a heart cath. We were very fortunate to have Lonnie Benninger assigned as K’s nurse. Right from the beginning Lonnie was personable, intelligent, extremely capable, and friendly. After the procedure, she explained every step of the pressure bandage removal and what would happen. She asked K if he wanted something to eat, which he declined. She knew that because the procedure had taken so long that I had missed lunch (it was now around 3:45).

A few minutes later Lonnie came in with a sandwich for me! I cannot begin to express how much this small act of kindness meant to me, that she would think of me while taking care of my husband. Later when I expressed doubt about our pharmacy’s hours, she took it upon herself to call and check on their hours. Lonnie is truly an extraordinary nurse. Her compassion towards not only the patient but also the family really sets her apart. I was truly thankful and blessed that she was assigned to K.
