I came from another hospital and was all kinds of messed up. I have neurological damage and several other things. I was totally broken when I came to NorthBay, and I had several surgeries and several procedures done. My nurse, Sally, was an angel. My light had gone out, and she put my light back. She is kind and caring. I could hear her voice down the hall, cheerful and positive. I had the pleasure of having her as my nurse serval times. Needless to say, I was in horrific pain. I must say, she’s the real deal. If she was in any other field, I would say she missed her calling. I am sure that I am not alone when I say I thank God for her. She is where she needs to be. There was a particular moment that stood out. I was in a lot of pain during my procedure. She was so thoughtful and caring. I was in so pain much that I was crying, and I said something to her during the procedure. She had the doctor stop what he was doing and brought it to their attention, so they could address it at that moment. I felt so secure and safe. She stayed with me and talked with me.

She nurtured me in ways that I didn’t even know possible. I had gone through some things in my job in the past. She made me feel so warm and normal. She made me feel so good. We talked about birthdays and she remembered I was a Pisces. When you are broken and sad and the fact she remembered something like that helps you know you are not just a dot in the universe. That every person is someone special. You are somebody and someone. She made sure a wonderful difference in my life. I will never forget her. My happiness affects so many people – I was able to help others and be a part of my family. Sally is tenacious, vivacious, warm, truthful, and caring. She transferred that all to me and now I am able to give that back to my family. I’m glad Sally Bleess was born.
