My husband received the diagnosis, in October 2018, of prostate cancer that had already metastasized to his bones, other areas, and organs of his body. He was fortunate to be assigned to Dr. G for treatment and care. With the assignment of Dr. G, came the gift of Jessica Krousel as his oncology nurse. Supported by the Levine Cancer Ballantyne team, we were guided through my husband's journey by Jessica. She supported us every step of the way. As his wife, I relied on Jessica for information and answers to questions that I did not even know we had. She made herself always available to us, and went into action as needed and even before needed, going above and beyond through every step of his journey. We were supported with a level of care that we had never before experienced, thanks to Jessica.

Jessica's expertise as a highly credentialed RN is unquestionable, as is her absolute commitment and unlimited compassion for her patients. My husband and I experienced Jessica for almost three years, two years more than we would have had together, had it not been for Dr. G, Jessica, and all of the other members of Levine Cancer Ballantyne team.

My greatest desire and wish for all patients and their families is that they have Jessica Krousel as their nurse or a nurse of the same high caliber of expertise, commitment, and compassion, willing to allow themselves to nurse from their hearts as well as their heads, as Jessica does. My husband returned to Spirit in August 2022. Jessica is still our Angel because of who she was for us through his journey and who she is for all of her patients. Without question, she deserves this recognition and award.
