Ryan was very attentive and made sure the patient got the care that he needed without time being wasted.
There was a very sick patient with a Code Stroke that was brought over by Ryan and the rest of the stroke team. The CT staff and the Stroke staff moved the patient over to the CT table and the patient became very sick. The patient could not lay flat, was struggling to breathe, and was coughing very badly. Ryan noticed that we were losing brain time and he made the decision to get the physician involved so that the patient could get the care that he needed.

When the physician was unsure of what to do for the patient, Ryan helped make the decision to take the patient back to the ER so that he could get the extra care that he needed. If Ryan had not made the critical decision that he did, the patient could have lost the time that was needed for the patient's brain. The patient was put on a ventilator in the ER and then brought back to CT so we could get the scans that were needed. Ryan was very attentive and made sure the patient got the care that he needed without time being wasted.
