As an 80-year-old individual on my way to 100, Adam's care helped me carry on to my goal.
I was admitted to the hospital with blood sugar soaring out of control and little idea of how to go on. Over the course of my one-week stay at the hospital, many nurses and doctors attended to my care. But Adam Milbauer was the nurse who stood out from the rest. He not only took care of my physical needs but also helped me deal with the emotional toll of being newly diagnosed with diabetes as a result of immunotherapy treatment. Adam explained everything to me clearly, without making it sound like it was his job.
His patience and understanding helped me feel at ease and gave me the confidence I needed to manage my diabetes. He found common interests with me, such as fishing, music, and camping, which made me feel comfortable and helped to ease my anxiety. He took the time to teach me how to manage my diabetes, and he was patient and thorough in his explanations. He made sure that I understood everything and never made me feel infantilized.
What I appreciated the most about Adam was his positive attitude. He complimented my health and made me feel uplifted, which helped my psychology immensely. He made me believe that I would not just survive but thrive, despite my new diagnosis. Adam's impact on me went beyond just physical care. He provided emotional support during a difficult time, and his kindness and compassion made a lasting impact on me.
I wholeheartedly nominate Adam for the Extraordinary Nurse Award. His commitment to excellence, patient-centered care, and positive attitude make him a truly exceptional nurse. As an 80-year-old individual on my way to 100, Adam's care helped me carry on to my goal. I am grateful for the care that he provided and the impact that he has had on my life.
