My father recently spent the last 8 days of his life at West Valley Medical Center and while there Michael was my dad's nurse the majority of those days. He was exceptional in many ways... he was personable, attentive to both my family's and my dad's needs, he took time to explain, he was prompt when he needed to be, and it was very apparent that he truly cared about his job and all that he encountered along the way.

All of these qualities made Michael stand out, however, the evening of my dad's passing he really went above and beyond. My 20-year-old nephew came to see my dad for the first time while he was in the hospital and he was having a hard time. Michael saw this and grabbed my nephew, took him out in the hallway, and explained the process they were taking with his Grandad and answered all questions that my nephew had. Seeing Michael simply take the initiative and time to help my nephew through a moment that was both new to him and completely scary meant the world to my whole family. We will forever be grateful and remember him for that very intuitive, kind, and loving gesture.
