I have never met a leader as kind, caring, and helpful as she is. Not only does she take amazing care of her employees/staff members, but she is always looking out for the patients and for other employees. She is extremely attentive to everyone’s needs and is always looking for ways to improve our unit and hospital.

Damanda often looks for ways to improve processes and procedures to benefit the patients and staff. She looks at everything from all angles and takes everyone into consideration. She is determined, hardworking, selfless, supportive, smart, compassionate, and just about every other great quality in a person you could think of. She truly cares about her staff members. Damanda takes a personal interest in each of her employees, fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. Twice under her leadership, the ICU has been nominated as a unit of distinction for HCA. She seeks to help others advance or progress in their own professional careers- even if it means assisting them to find opportunities outside of the unit.

Damanda is the perfect balance between advocating for her nurses and her leadership role. That balance is a rare and unusual achievement. She is a perfect embodiment of the DAISY character and spirit.
