Kyla patiently and calmly dealt with the situation when my grandmother accidentally yanked the IV and blood went all over. Kyla exudes positivity. She is mindful and considerate of the patient and tried to understand what my grandmother is saying. She reached out to us to make sure that she will get her message through to her patient knowing that my grandmother speaks Tagalog as her first language and English is just her second language. In general, I felt my grandmother is most cared for on the 11th floor.

Mrs. Kyla... Simply AMAZING! My mom has been here a few times and has been in bad shape, this time we spent almost 29 hours in the ER before getting a room. We do understand it's a trauma center so it's very busy. But GOD had us waiting for a reason, and we were put on the 11th floor. Upon our arrival and getting situated in our room, in came the sweetest voice and a smile you could see through the mask in her eyes. My mom had to have tests run for almost 2 days so she was NPO. They finally cleared her to eat, in seconds we had a BIG thing of ice water and Mrs. Kyla was looking for something for her to snack on. I had picked up some soup for her that afternoon before we were moved when I was sent home by my dad to rest. I said you know what Mom I have that soup, Mrs. Kyla quickly said let me warm it up for you. And in minutes she was back with soup. She then offered different drinks etc. She had a bucket of towels, rags, soap, socks, toothbrush she sat on the table with a clean gown for my mom. She took care of me as well on the fold-out couch sat clean sheets and blankets and a pillow for me. This woman is the BEST! We don't feel like patients with her we feel like FAMILY! This beautiful lady definitely deserves this award!! This is what all nurses should strive to be like. The Compassion, the Love! She is very attentive, and no question was dumb or asked too much! She would explain everything if we asked and if it was a question we needed to wait for the Dr. like the throat spray mom needed due to the GI test she has to do a scope, she was quick to write her group of Doctors! She is so WONDERFUL! I have never liked having to leave for work and my mom being here without me, but I know that under the care of Mrs. Kyla, I do not have to worry, I know she is cared for as if it was Mrs. Kyla's mom too! Please let her know that during our time of worry and stress, she was our light and made us feel at home! The Lord had us waiting that long for the best! Thank you MRS. KYLA, WE LOVE YOU!
